PUPPY HEADSTART
There are 7 areas that make for a social pup. Each week your puppy will be introduce to different things under each of these categories. Family Relationships, Care and Handling, Good House & Toilet Manners, Interactions with Other People, Interactions with Other Dogs, New Obstacles Surfaces and Smells. New experiences in Sight, Sound, Touch and Motion. You will also receive handouts explaining some of the things covered.

PUPPY CLASS
1 Month Membership (puppies must be no older then 16 weeks at start of 1st class)
Can also attend foundation class - $100.

Puppy classes will be schedule as needed.

Puppy Headstart :
Depending on interest class will be schedule either on:
Monday , Tuesday , Wednesday or Thursday at 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM

2. BRING A NOTE FROM YOUR VETERINARIAN APPROVING YOUR PUPPY'S PARTICIPATION IN CLASS


FOUNDATION (BEGINNER) CLASS DETAILS
Karen Pryor Academy Beginner Dog Training Course

These KPA classes are designed to teach owners "foundation skills" and dogs "foundation behaviors." Owners will learn how to train their dogs without resorting to corrections, punishment, or force. The dogs will learn important "foundation behaviors" which will enable them to be the socially acceptable family dogs that caring owners desire.

A "foundation skill" is a skill that an owner and/or their dog need to know in order to enable a lifetime of successful learning. A "foundation behavior" is a specific action that is eventually put on cue, such as sitting politely for petting, walking nicely on leash, settling, or coming when called.

There are a total of ten foundation behaviors in this program and each behavior has up to 4 levels of learning and achievement. Instructors will track the progress of each owner and their dog as they learn each foundation skill and behavior at each level. Once successful at a particular level they will begin working on the next level of the behavior. This ensures each owner and dog is successful at each level and are able to progress at their own individual rates of learning.


FOUNDATION CLASS IS FOR ALL DOGS OVER 16 WEEKS
OR PUPPIES THAT SIGNED UP FOR PUPPY HEADSTART

Foundation Class 1 Month Membership (unlimited attendance for 1 month ): $100.
Foundation Class 3 Month Membership (unlimited attendance for 3 months and includes advanced classes if successful at foundation skills and behaviors): $275.
10 Class Pass (3 months to use): $150.
20 Class Pass (6 months to use): $275.

Foundation Classes :
Depending on interest classes will be schedule either:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday at 7:15 PM to 8:15 PM

Depending on interest a 2nd class at 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM may be offered

Some days may be offered at 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Foundation Classes will be offered at least 3 times during each week

IMPORTANT:

1) Classes include an orientation session which MUST be attended before beginning lessons with your dog. These sessions are WITHOUT dogs and include a presentation on positive reinforcement dog training, demonstrations, and training skills practice for owners. The starting date for your class attendance is the first night of class, not the date of the orientation session. Orientation sessions will be scheduled on an as needed basis.

Orientation classes :

Is a prerequisite to Foundation Classes.
Class will be schedule either on:

length of class will be 2 hours

2) Pricing includes a clicker with wrist coil, a treat bag, and all course handouts.

3) Payment by check or cash is required at the orientation session. After attending an orientation session and payment received, you will receive an email invitation to the Whispering Springs Dog Training Scheduling Calendar which will enable you to sign up for classes which meet YOUR schedule.
THIS IS IN PROCESS OF BEING SET UP. PLEASE CALL ME 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE TO LET ME KNOW WHAT CLASS YOU ARE INTERESTING IN ATTENDING. CLASS SIZE FOR FOUNDATION IS LIMITED TO 6 PEOPLE.

4) Each student may choose which behaviors they wish to work on at each class. Instructor will keep a progress report for each student and the report will be updated at each class.

5) Discounts: A $10.00 discount applies for dogs obtained from any rescue organization or shelter. A $10.00 discount also applies for a second dog from the same home and attending classes at the same time.

ADVANCE CLASSES COMING (Foundation class is a prerequisite for advance classes.

MANNERS: walking , sit, down, come, settle, loose leash walking, mine/take it, wait/stay.

BEHAVIORAL ISSUES: potty training, barking ,chewing, anxiety and fear based problems. Evaluation and assistance with aggression issues is also available.

$60 per hour. Additional hour price drops to $40.00 per hour

SEMI-PRIVATE AT YOUR HOME
Cheaper than private lessons. You know the dogs and people. Pick the behaviors you want to work on. $70.00 per hour for 2 people 2 dogs. $75.00 per hour for 3 people 3 dogs.

What is enrichment? Anything that adds to well being.
Studies on animals held in a captive state ranging from zoo's , safari parks, shelter for cats/dogs and boarding kennels have all benefited from enrichment programs.

For boarded animals it helps to reduce the stress animals can feel while their owners are away.
